Time to slow down

Consider all options

Take a breath

It’s the first one in a while

Not possible to breathe when you’re drowning

Constantly in a rush

There was always something to do

Running around

As though stopping would mean falling behind

Racing towards the end

Trying to distract ourselves from the fact that

The end is a cliff

Sprinting nonetheless

Closing our eyes

Ignoring the flowers

Just

Breathe

1 … 2 … 3 …

The cliff isn’t going anywhere

No need to worry

But the moment is fleeting

The end is a guarantee

But the present

Is a gift

Feel the cool air on your skin

Take in the beauty of the moment

Let go of the regrets of the past and worries of the future

If only for a moment

There’s plenty of time to worry

But there’s not enough time to just be

To laugh deeply

Letting the tears stain your cheeks

Your face hurts from smiling too hard

When was the last time

You let this happen?

Lost in the moment
