Racism hiding in every corner
Tangled in our systems so tightly
Wrapped up in our minds
Hundreds of years of injustice
Equality is far out of reach
Every week, another story
Of a cop who’s abused his power
Not all cops, they say
But power corrupts and continues the cycle
Threatening to kill the “thugs”
Our president advocates military intervention
His supporters remain silent
Just as plantation owners during slavery
Not all cops
Not all slaveholders
The fury, it builds
A revolution is near
I’m proud to be an American
The propaganda screams
Greatest country on earth
The lies we’re fed
Gaslighting us
Too many feed into it
They are blinded by their own ignorance
Afraid to give up power
When will the bullshit end?
