disjointed puzzle pieces

sometimes two puzzle pieces

seem to fit together

but only through brute-force

do they stay in place

ignorance of your mistake

overshadowed by satisfaction

you move onto what’s next

attempting to find more matches

complete the picture

but eventually

you hit a point

where matches can’t be made

maybe this is what happens in life

when we make the wrong choice

even though it seems just right

trying to fit into something

not realizing that

the effort is unnatural

and the picture is disjointed
