maybe

maybe years have passed
and both of us have changed
but there’s still a part of me
that holds onto what was there
and i think you do too

you’d think
that feelings fade
as time passes
but really
they grow more complex

it’s confusing to describe
what i want
and what i think
because i know
neither has the power
to control

i’m afraid to admit
that nothing has changed for me
maybe one day
